Well I got suspended from Twitter for going on 9 days now. Never got one response from their “Support”. Just a standard auto response the first day saying we are looking into your account. Then nothing. No matter how many requests for help I sent.. Nada…

Then after reading on www.getsatisfaction.com that I was not alone and the only way to resolve this was to create a “ghost” account and send in another support ticket. It said they respond to active accounts rather quickly.

Well guess what?

I created A “Ghost” account this morning and sent in a support request to fix my original account.

And guess what?

Within 30 minutes of the creation of my “ghost” account and sending in the request from there for help for my old account.

It was “MAGICALLY” restored.

Again without so much as a “Sorry, Fuck you we are busy, Who are you again to demand help”?

Oh well at least I and my Red are back in Twitter land again…

Stephen Hawking hospitalized, reported very ill

LONDON (AP) — Cambridge University says famed mathematician Stephen Hawking has been rushed to a hospital and is very ill.The university said Hawking had been fighting a chest infection for several weeks, and on Monday he was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, north of London.

The 67-year-old Hawking gained renown for his work on black holes, and has remained active despite being stricken with motor neurone disease as a young man.

For some years, Hawking has been almost entirely paralyzed, and he communicates through an electronic device activated by his fingers.

Prof Hawking suffers from motor neurone disease and is wheelchair bound. He speaks with the help of a voice synthesizer.

He developed symptoms of the disease while studying in the 1960s and is one of the world”s longest surviving sufferers.

He has worked at Cambridge”s Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics for more than 30 years and since 1979 has been the University”s Lucasian Professor of Mathematics.

Prof Hawking was awarded a CBE in 1982, became a Companion of Honour in 1989 and is a Fellow of the Royal Society.

He lives in Cambridge and has three children and one grandchild.

Prof Hawking was born in Oxford but his family moved to St Albans, Hertfordshire, when he was eight.

He studied at St Albans School before reading physics at University College Oxford then moving to Cambridge to carry out research in cosmology.

One of Prof Hawking”s last public appearances was last September when he unveiled a £1 million clock erected at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.

“Professor Hawking is very ill and has today been taken by ambulance to Addenbrooke”s Hospital, Cambridge,” said the University spokesman.

“He is undergoing tests. He has been unwell for a couple of weeks.”

Professor Peter Haynes, Head of the University”s Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, added: “Professor Hawking is a remarkable colleague. We all hope he will be amongst us again soon.”

Man talk about a flashback. I was just answering some questions about the early internet and forms of communication with Red.

As the answers were forth coming the subconscious went on this trip back in time to when I used to have my BBS ( Starfire”s Universe , later to be known as CyberNexus ). The whole world of pain and suffering I went through from 300 baud modems to my first connection to the internet.

To remember all that and then look at the global communities we connect to today.

I remember my first glimpse at the “internet” through a web browsing program called “Lynx”. Completely text driven, and getting the reports of perhaps 2,000 web pages total. Then watch it grow exponentially as time moved on.

One of these days I am going to have to go resurrect that old BBS of mine. It is still backed up on old DAT tapes. I think I still have almost every version of windows from 2.0 to now. I know I have an old copy of Netscape v.99.

Yeah I hardly ever toss stuff out.. lol

The anonymous writer of a prominent blog which lampoons Apple boss Steve Jobs has been unmasked.

The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs, in which the writer pretended to be the Apple chief executive, has become a must-read for technology watchers.

After months of speculation, the New York Times reported that the writer was Daniel Lyons, a senior editor at business magazine Forbes.

Despite the unmasking, the diary will continue but on the Forbes website.

Mr Lyons, who writes about technology, told the New York Times: “I’m stunned that it’s taken this long (to discover my identity).”

‘Ruined mystery’

He said he had had to buy books and biographies to “learn about a lot of the back story” of Apple.

Writing as Steve Jobs on the blog, Mr Lyons said: “Now you’ve ruined the mystery of Fake Steve, robbing thousands of people around the world of their sense of childlike wonder.”

He added: “Apple faithful, here in our darkest hour I know what you’re thinking: What’s next for FSJ?

“Well, I’m taking a few days off to sit in a lake and do some yoga and meditation and non-thinking. Then I’m coming back next week, badder than ever, with a new sponsor – my homeboys at Forbes.com.”

Mr Lyons told the newspaper that the blog was intended as an experiment to find out what happened if a company chief executive kept a blog and told the truth.

The journalist has used the blog to poke fun at many different figures in the technology industry, including Oracle’s Larry Ellison, Bill Gates, and Google’s Eric Schmidt.

The real Steve Jobs and Bill Gates admitted to reading the blog.

This place was the center of the dotcom bubble of the mid 90s, when investors were pouring money into anything with a dot in the title. Of course it was also the hardest hit when the bubble burst. For every surviving big player, hundreds went under.
