And the Ice returns

This is the second day of the Ice Storm ( 2008 ) that we have gone through this year. Not anywhere near as bad as last year. But we have about 3/4″ of an inch of ice on the power lines and tree branches as I type this.

The bitter cold is just the same. The only saving grace of the ice storm this year is that most of the offending and dangerous hanging branches came down or were cut back last year. So we don’t have the mass power outage we did then. However we still had over 3,000 people without power early this morning.

It is 27 degrees outside right now and it is Bitter Cold. I have come to realize that there is a decided difference in how one feels at the same ambient temperature with the only difference being the ground is either covered with a foot or two of soft fluffy snow or hard packed sheet’s of solid Ice. It is weird but even if the temperature is the same, if the ground is covered with ice it almost always feels a butt load colder… But that may just be my perception.. who knows?

Anyway.. Just a short update for the time being…

Peace Out All,

Dragon
